Looks like everything loaded OK. Have you located mknod and tried my
prior suggestion of manually creating the character device?
$ emerge fileutils (if needed, or grab the gnu fileutils package)
$ mknod /dev/input/mice c 13 63
$ cat /dev/input/mice
Move mouse and press buttons.
