Looking at the idea of being/having an ISP, which for nothing else can
be a fun activity to get into.

There MIGHT be a different approach that is workable for our situation,
that could be fun and not too expensive.

If we look at the purpose of this first before thinking of why it cannot
work. Why do it?
Fun to be a LUG with it's own ISP?
Who would it be for SLUG members, public at large?
Would we be interested/able in handling support to cut costs?

Local people has an edge, but not all national ISP's have non caring
staff. If physical access to server is not an issue then we have more
choices in finding someone willing to play ball with us.

Being one of the largest user groups can be used to our advantage. When
condo associations sign up with RR they each negotiate a price. We
could possibly be as big or bigger than any association... Again this
only being an exercise of the mind. You know, where there's a will
there's often a way kind of an approach.

New kinds of deals are made all the time where someone was looking for a
solution.
