The default is not what I gave. The default didn't work for me, either. You
have to use smtpauth.earthlink.net.

No problem. Please notice the difference between smtp.earthlink.net and
smtpauth.earthlink.net. Also note that if you are going to do this, you must
use an encrypted connection (which I do under exim), because you must send
your username and password. Of course, you could use cleartext, but why? :-)
