Open gconf-editor

Select schemas -> apps -> metacity -> general -> auto_raise_delay

Open a nautilus window, select edit -> preferences -> icon & list views

Open a nautilus window and type applications:/// in the location bar
right click an icon and select edit launcher. To add, select add
launcher. (I chown root:users /usr/share/applications and chmod it to
775)

menu if you don't like the "Extras" menu.
