try just \\aeon it should then ask for a username and password when you
try to open any of the directories. Also, you might try
\\aeon\%username% and it should ask you for a u/n and pass.

Subject: [SLUG] Samba madness

Okay, attached is my pretty simple Samba configuration file. I've got
the
server up and running (and nmbd) and everything looks fine.

That is, until I attempt to Map Network Drive from my Win2K machine. I
put in all the \\aeon\homes information and pick a spare letter and it
keeps giving me some bullpooh message about "Remote computer is not
available."

This is all inside on my little LAN, behind a firewall, and I can get to

the Linux box just fine with ping, ftp, etc.

Anyone know a quick solution to this problem? Google wasn't much help
at
all. (Maybe I didn't hit on the magic paraphrasing of the error
message.)
