Yep, and anyone want to put money down on how quickly the cable ISPs
will start charging much more for the cable internet service that
"authorizes" you to run a firewall?

Or perhaps they won't authorize any end-user and instead will force
users to "license" a firewall that's located at and run by the cable ISP
itself. For much more money of course.

I can easily see Time-Warner/Roadrunner doing this for all its
"business-class" customers. "You want a firewall? Fine. It's illegal
to run one yourself, so you'll have to use ours. That'll add an
additional $1500 per month to your bill for managed firewall services."

And the bill does excplicitly list "Internet access" as one of the
services this proposed law will cover in FL.

I'm so ready to leave this country....
