I saw the book. Aside from the ugly guy on the front cover, I think it
was a little too early to market. Point/click desktop Linux wasn't quite
"there" yet. It also fell into a marketing black hole at Sybex, just as
my "Online Rules" book darn near did with Financial Times Press. This is
not uncommon with larger publishers, and has nothing to do with a book's
quality, just the brownian motion of people inside big publishing
companies, every one of which is managed poorly.

I will make this book short, pictorial, and unintimidating. And I'll
probably base it on the SuSE desktop office 8.2 version due out this
fall, which looks like it's going to be marvelous, with a little
discussion of other distros tossed in. The packages all work the same,
anyway. :)
