We did the same thing 2 years ago. Wisconsin to Tampa. Luckily, the wife got
a transfer with her company, but I had to give up my sys admin job. I just
figured everyone needs computer people. Well, was I wrong. There is no tech
market in Tampa. Actually, I've talked with a number of other people, and
we've come to the conclusion that Florida doesn't manufacture anything. It's
all service industry down here.

My only help on trying to find a job is network, network, network, and
network. After sending out at least 100 resumes, and getting 15 interviews,
I found out it's not what you know, but who you know. After a year and a
half, my wife ending up getting me a job with her company in the MIS group.
Pays less than half what I was making in Wisconsin, but then again, it cost
less than half to live here.

Good luck on your move.

Tom
