[SLUG] Moving from RR Cable to Verizon DSL = mucho easy

Well, I got the self-install DSL kit from Verizon today. Plugged in the
filters so my phone and fax don't get interference, plugged in the DSL
modem power and phone jack, plugged in the Ethernet cable from the
Netgear wireless router, and... that was that.

$30 per month, and plenty fast enough for me, and I don't care that
they're not giving me a static IP because I don't need one.

I can't say I love Verizon, but I don't have the smoldering hatred for
them I have for AOL/Time Warner/RR, who suddenly decided I was stealing
cable TV service and tripled my cable bill one day, even though I was
*not* stealing cable service....

Anyway, I love it when things "just work,"' like this DSL install.

PS - They send you a CD for Windows/Mac. I'm sure it's important, but I
seem to be fine without it.
