Unfortunately what probably happens in a case like this, is that some
shipping clerk or secretary gets the material, throws it away, and the
high level executive -- to whom the return would have meaning -- is
never informed of the return. Because then you are hoping a low paid
clerk will (1) understand the issue and (2) show initiative outside of
their job description.

 Nonetheless, I would do it too. Did SCO actually respond to the letter?
