I'd read all the posts before starting (and don't listen to "Edweirdo's"
post). Looks like you want to do an emerge depclean for the kdebase
packages, but use -p first to see what will happen. Might want to do a
qpkg -l and save the output for getting any stray configuration files.
Please let me know how you like fluxbox or E, because I'd like to try
them some day. Screenshots would be cool, but I don't know if the list
allows them...
