I'm having a hard time getting started with GIS. I can't tell what data to use
where. Unfortunately, the GRASS tutorial is in German, which makes it a bit
denser than usual to wade through since German is not my second (or even
third) language.
Are there any recomended books or should I just keep googling along?
My primary interest right now would be in conjunction with the geocaching I do
and using the GPSr data as layer perhaps. Later perhaps I could make some of
this useful to my surveyor buddy.
I didn't find the lists Robin mentioned either ...
hmmm... now where did I put that clue stick?
