Paul, without digging through the archives, this looks vaguely familiar. It
looks like no one wants to face the grad students. :)

I live in Michigan or I'd consider giving the talk just to keep us from being
a no-call / no-show. I don't know all the ins and outs of Linux (it's a
rapidly moving target) so I'd have to declare that upfront and then talk for
the next 43 minutes straight, allowing a 2 minute Q&A at the end ...
accepting questions only from the least clueful looking in attendance and
giving slow, thoughtful answers. Or at least dragging out "I don't know. I'll
get back to you on that." :-)
