Thanks for the response. In retrospect, I hope my email didn't come off

this point is that I might decide to show up at a meeting and, upon
arriving, discover that I'm the only one there. I have, a couple of
times in the last few years, shown up at small-attendance informal
"events" that ended up being informally cancelled because nobody
bothered to show, and I'm wary of that happening again. On the other
hand, I suppose I don't really have any cause to begrudge a trip to a
library. Mmmm, books.

1. I suppose it depends, first of all, on my desire to attend future
meetings. Heh.
2. It depends, of course, on how my schedule hashes out in the near
future. The job, y'know.
3. It also depends on what you have in mind when you say "help". I can
be (obsessively?) dedicated to a project, but thoroughly lazy when a
task comes up that holds zero interest for me. I don't want to promise
to "help" and end up wandering off because the help needed is not of
interest to me.
