Ok one thing that I have never been able to find is a multi threaded
binary news group reader like what I use for Downloading binaries off
news groups in windows. Newsbin is what I use in windows to get a feel
of what I looking for I will post this link

It only picks up on the Binary post not the text in the post I can
select a group of files an then they download from tne news group on
to my hard drive. Now I been hard pressed to find a decent one out side
windows.... On mac I found a bunch but they dont let me select indivual
files for download they want to download teh whole group. On Linux I
really have not found much Pan is nice and all but It does not have the
power of news bin. It does not work well under wine for some reason.
If I limit the bandwith to 256Kb(bits not bytes) instead of my rated
1.5 mbps down. it works just fine. But if I let it go full speed and
it hits about 1.4 mbps down which is what I get with tcp/ip overhead on
windows It will run at 1.4 for a while an then Wine will crash X server
will crash.so far it has done it on ever version of linux I have tried.
Any thing native out there for linux be it free shareware or retail
software.
