Hi

Just wanted to introduce myself, my name is Tom Craddock, Jr.
Recently found the SLUG website and signed up for the mailing list
today. I hope Ill be able to attend the SLUG meeting in Brandon this
Thursday night (Oct 7, 2004). Do many people on the list attend that
one? I am new to LUGs, but am looking forward to meeting other OS users
in the community.

A lil info about my nix experience, been using it one form or another
for about 3 years straight, dabbled in it back in 95-96, but could never
get it to work then, so when I finally got back into it, I was
pleasantly surprised to learn it had become a bit more friendlier, and I
had learned a thing or two as well. About 2 1/2 years ago decided to
make my own router/web/email/etc server and been loving it ever since
(using Clark connect). With my interest in XBoxes already being high,
the addition of the ability to run Linux on it made me appreciate it
even more. Now I use it 80% of the time, FC2 being my current distro of
choice, running it on 2 desktops, 1 laptop, and 1 PVR (Myth TV). 2
XBoxes run Xebian (one for fun, one is a front-end to my Myth TV
server.) Some friends and I have also decided to setup a testing wifi
network with WRT54G Linksys routers, so there's alot more too look
forward to. Hope if I'm able to I can help others on here and at the
meetings. Sorry if I got a bit long-winded, bad habit I know.
