Whoa! Now hold on.
Sun publishes its specifications as IEEE standards (even the SPARC).
In fact, at this point, Sun is less proprietary than Intel [brand].

In the case of PS/2-USB, you can get adapters.
When it comes to monitors, you need "fixed frequency" for the console.

That's not proprietary. ;->

There are plenty of KVM switches that have _both_ PC and SUN outputs.
You pay somewhat of a premium, but they are _well_worth_it_!

If you try to use "adapters" -- especially for video -- expect to have
issues, unless the monitor handles the scan ranges SUN expects (at least
for the console).
