[SLUG] Supporting Linux

Today I made a donation to the upcoming Firefox full page ad in the NY
Times, and at the end of the online procedure they urged that we
should "spread the word".

So that's what I'm doing. Seems to me that all the recent
well-publicized security problems in IE resulted in quite a shift in
browser statistics. There's momentum, so now is not the time to drop
the ball!

I realize that not everyone is inclined to donate to this, but maybe
one or two of you are, and just need a nudge.

To anyone interested, go here: http://www.spreadfirefox.com/

Read about it, join the team, and donate if you feel like it. You
still have time to have YOUR name in the NY Times!

Also, on the topic of supporting Linux, is anybody using Mepis? I've
been very happy with Libranet but they have been VERY slow come up
with their latest version, inc 2.6 kernel; I've been using Mepis more
and more. It's excellent. A couple of weeks ago I put in my order
for two copies of Robin Limo's "Point and Click" book. Even if Robin
is going to give some of these away to Sluggers, It's still worth
asking yourself if you wouldn't rather throw some support toward
Mepis/Robin. If so check this:

Be sure and sign up with PH to get the discount.

I'm not working for anybody, and I don't get any commission. I only
mention the above because I want to see Linux elbow aside MS on the
desktop. It's like rolling a large boulder--if you get it moving at
all, you really need to keep pushing or else it was all for nothing.
