Hehe, I know what you mean. Us oldtimers are used to certain standards. Also
most earlier attempts on creating multifunctioning equipment resulted in
overall lower quality or something else lost.

What I think is the correct view of these are to call them hybrids.

I think Linux really began the trend for manufacturers who realized they could
offer more than just a switch, thus get a beat on the competition. Though I
could be wrong.
