Hi Paul!

OK. I don't fall into any of these categories. After two years I am
hardly a newbie, but I am certainly getting frustrated when after all
this things still don't work. Being frustrated is not the same as
flaming in my opinion. I ask your indulgence, after all, my
understanding is that the list is to *help* people.

Now if you read the dead tree "F" manual as I have and it evidently
gives you the wrong information (i.e.: type the command exactly as
written in the manual and it generates an error) and you search the web
and can't find any information that works on the problem you are having,
as I also have, what is left *but* the list?

Now in this case we are dealing with a "point-and-click" distro which is
supposed to "just work". When you look for things in it they aren't
there or are well hidden enough that the experienced guys at the meeting
can't find them. The point-and-click-website is not updated very often,
either. I have decided to get my saved emails onto a cd if I can, blow
this off and install what the guys who are trying to help me are
familiar with. Maybe when we are all reading on the same page . . .

Regards,

Pete
