OK, when I double click on a attachement, firefox opens a window that ask
what I want to do with the file, if it is such that there are no
spaces in it, it will
ask me if I want to open it and give me a tool or list of tools to
open it or it will
allow me to save to disk.

When there are spaces, it will tell me to save it to disk, if I am
given a option
to open it, there is not tool given and also if the the file has the
following name
look at this.jpg
all that will show up as the file name in the pop up for handling the file is
look
The rest of it is missing.

I am using firefox to read web mail and in a particular e-mail may be
a attachment
when i try to open the attachment I get the popup that ask me what I
want to do with
the file and that is when I get the problem. So when I globally start
firefox do I need
to start it with the command below? or is this the command that will
be called when
it is going to attempt to open the file attachment?

Eban,
( begin cheap suckup--- B-] ) As usual you have a good set of solutions... B->

Thank you, and keep up the good work. Indeed you are right, it is the shell that
wants to have the calls for files with spaces in them double quoted.
