The contents of the SLUG list are routinely posted on the internet as
archives by NKS. So it's not like any of this could really be considered
"private". All he'd have to do is go to the Lists page, click on the
link for the archives and poke around (assuming he knew there was
something there to find). Translation = sure, show him the thread.

Good luck with this. Such topics are fodder for endless arguments among
web designers. Unfortunately, there are a lot of web designers who
frankly couldn't care less if someone's using a legacy or text-only
browser. Their attitude is that the user should update their technology,
and screw them if they don't. Similar arguments ensue regarding the
proper width for a web page (640? 800? 1024?), the proper fonts to use,
etc.

Also unfortunately, people who use things like Outlook, IE and other
similar programs tend to assume that everyone else does, too. And if
_they_ can view Flash or the latest Gee Whiz technology, so can everyone
else. Windows and Mac users both are very bad about this. Ask someone to
send you a text document, and see if they don't send you a Word file.
Because, of course, _everyone_ has Word.
