I have used coyotelinux with a PII 300 or 233 and 32M of ram. Any
router/firewall machine should not have any other services or it won't
be as secure. Or try freesco.org and 'linux router project' - I don't
know if they are still around but they would be a lot easier to
understand to begin with.
