To start we would need to form a working group of hard-working
individuals from
those interested and these would be our agenda items:
1) Sponsorship - since this is the show-stopper, we should work on
getting large
businesses with a Linux interest to donate some money to cover the travel
expenses and set up expenses.
2) Conference Room - It looks like we would only need one room because
each day
is a different conference topic. But with up to 200 people, we would need a
big room. A large hotel conference room is what comes to mind because you've
also got lodging, power and internet access right there.
3) Pick a date - This is an easy part - Oct 14, 2006 which is the 10th
anniversary of KDE.
4) High-speed internet access - It says that a 2Mbit pipe will be
saturated, so
we would need either a few smaller pipes, or the a single pipe to support
> 2Mbit.
5) Transportation - I think we have that covered. If this event is in
the city
of Tampa, the public transportation will suffice.
6) Food - plenty of places to eat around Tampa...
We've got a lot of time to prepare for the event itself, but we have to put
together a presentation to the KDE board outlining our proposal and
preparations.
