Using them for fileservers or dumb terminals are the most common uses
that are actually worth the electricity consumption. There are other
specialized uses, but it really depends on what ports you've run out
of.
Anyway, I suggest you donate them to the Goodwill next to Derby Lane.
That's the one I always go to to try to find cheap PCs. :)
