You should not hit reply and change the subject line as that does not make a
new thread. The thread information is in the email header, not the subject
line.
A much better way is to right click on the email address, and choose new
email. This way you get your own thread without stealing someone elses.
[A lot of us did mess up with another thread where we did the same, but we try
to avoid that kind of a thing as it makes it hard to follow each thread.]
