[SLUG] USB Serial port devices

I have found that USB serial ports on linux work with no questions asked
(knock on wood, at least I do not get asked dumb questions about needing
drivers like that other OS does).

The one issue I have run into is if I have a usb serial port and add a 2nd
one, the second one may on reboot come up as the first one and visaversa.

I have external devices that are connected to these things and need to make
sure that the same hardware device comes on line as TTYUSB0, and the
second one always comes up as TTYUSB1 etc. Does anyone have a idea
of how to make sure that a given device always comes up with the same
serial port assignment.

"the only dumb question is the one you DID NOT ask resulting in my going
out and having to identify your bits and pieces in the midst of torn
and twisted metal."
