I have Vonage now and my router was hit by lightening. I have been a Vonage
customer for over a year but was told that the device is now my property and
I am responsible for replacing it.

The final straw for me is that Vonage expects me to buy equipment that only
works with their service. That is not going to happen and I don't want to be
in the same position in the future. Any equipment that I buy will be vendor
neutral.
