CGM is still alive and in use. CGM is generally used as a generic transport
format, supported by technical illustration packages like Adobe Illustrated,
and imported by InDesign and Word.
For everyone else, CGM is an ISO standard graphics file format for raster,
vector and text data. The latest version is WebCGM 2.0. Far from dead, it
looks like it will live on as an emerging web standard.
