No they are chosen by there plug and play information that gets read by the
bios. Each card that is plug and play , has a identifier information. One
part of that information is information about it interrupt requirements. As
specified in the orginal 1.0a spec. So in theory assuming you have a
quality card going into the machinesn the board is in complete complaince
with the at least the orginal 1.0a which was released in 1994 you should be
fine. Nothing should have to be done by your part.

Now if your not happy with this, most bioses will allow you to turn off pnp
and manually assing irq to your devices.
