The motivation to participate in any voluntary group meeting often hinges on ones personal investment and expected return.
When we have differing objectives, we tend to go different directions. When we have similar objectives, we tend to come together if we think it will facilitate reaching our common objectives.
Two things have curtailed my investment.
1. Inability to identify the group objective.
(slug-announce usually just identified when and where)
2. Two hours of driving time. (round trip)
Presenting my PC and an objective that may not be of interest to others is beyond my social comfort zone. If an objective where announced in advance and people identified it as a common objective, and then invested because they expected a return useful to them, then that would be entirely within my social comfort zone.
Imagine a group member posting their objective... those who have interest in that objective could post their interest... those who have already reached that objective may offer support.
Individuals who identify their objective(s) for an upcoming meeting could increase or decrease group participation. But knowing what benefit may come from participation, should validate the investment of every participant.
