With the 2.4.N kernels, if you are using an IDE rerecordable you must pass
(to the kernel at boot time): hdb=ide-scsi (this is from my dmesg)
or whatever your CD-RW or DVD-RW is) this may be the actual problem.
(2.6.N kernels, I know not.)
In this case ATAPI:1,2,3 means buss #2, (SCSI or USB the first buss is 0), device @2 on
that buss, and LUN #3 (the third slot in the multi slot device, like a 4 slot CD player.
ATAPI:0,0,0 is buss 1, device 1 and LUN 1 the first of everything.
