I disagree somewhat. Don't get me wrong I'm all about getting more bang
for the MIP. (I have an asterisk PBX running on my Linksys WRT54G).
I believe faster processors in the desktop realm is driven from big
robust gaming and fancy workstation OS's. If all anyone cared about was
simple desktop managers then we would all still be typing on PII450's.
All im saying is don't knock big fancy, bloated if you will
desktop's\games. They are the reason I am typing on a Dual Core 3.7Ghz
Conroe with 4GB of ram. Which by the way is cool to "me" like an Audi R8.
I see perspective from the minimalist side of the fence as well.
