I don't see any problem, I usually have 3 bootable drives and each mounts the other two under
their dev name, such as in the root of HDA there is /HDC and /HDD. (HDB is a normally a CD/DVD
writer) I have used common directories. All are for rescue and storage space.
The first installed /root directory can be symbolically "linked to" ~root on all of the other
partitions/installations. As far as I understand it, nothing has to be the same version number or
anything like that.
For instance: In Mr. Root's directory there is a directory .mc with all rc files that will work
with numerous versions of mc unless you accidentally span a major change, if so upgrade all
installations to the same version of mc.
