Yes, and unaffected by the volume control.

Right=red. You might get red & black, same rule. White & black, I'm
guessing left=white. But just haul out an album with hard L/R separation,
like singers in one channel, band in the other. (Sometimes albums from way
back when hadn't got the hang of stereo.) You'll know, if you're familiar
with the album.
