I have the same problem with X in RH 7.1.

True, But with 2300 programs that is not always possible. I would
suggest that if there is any particular program that you absolute need
to work correctly do it yourself because some of the RPMs do not work
correctly. I would be exceptionally surprising if they all did with that
many programs.

Suggest that you join the Qt list for this Glen. I did when I was trying
to get 1.4 to work. I now understand that they are at level 3.xx but I
noticed that RH 7.1 installed a 2.xx package. In particular these (Qt)
were the packages that gave me such a headache when I tried to install
them from the RPMs. It appears that RH did not include all the libraries
and other assorted requirements in RH 6.1. As far as 7.1 I don't know
yet as I have not tried it. What I do know is that to make Qt work
correctly in all capacities there are a number of programs that you must
install. What I am trying to say there is that not all of the Qt program
is named Qt and not all of it comes from TrollTech. You may have to talk
to the KDE lists about this. I was also on that beginners list once and
I seem to remember some discussion about installing Qt and it
components.
