What do I do? Woody/Grub seems to have forgotten my root password
but recognizes my user password.

Grub brings up a new looking Debian-Progeny desktop manager
window wherein one may select the format but now does not provide
a Halt or Reboot option. Ctrl-Alt-F2 got me to a command line where
I can do that.

I can log in as root at the command line. How do I fix this, please?

Also, Woody killed my PCMCIA!
