About the Neomagic - Mandrake 8.0 did this too, as long as I was using Xfree
3.3.x. Once I tried to go to 4.x it refused to work. FreeBSD is the same way,
if I used XF86 4.x it will not give me even the most basic screen and
crashes. Maybe the driver maintainer took a really long holiday... ? ;)
