Sounds like you are fine with setting it up as the Master driver. The problem
you are encountering is with your boot order. You need to go into the bios and
tell it to boot to SCSI or external controller first instead of IDE. If you
didn't have an IDE drive before and just put one in, then that would most likely
be the situation.
