So one should extrapolate this to mean that if one sends an email to a or
through a Microsoft system from a Linux box then there is a very high
probability that MS will reject the email.

Now, I don't know about you people but that doesn't sound like the MS I know.
As I recall they are the most congenital, friendly, informative, and helpful
of people.
They have always willing to do anything possible to help their competitors
out --- (the door).
