Do you even know what you're saying here? All programs on a Linux system
use "system level functions"; otherwise they wouldn't function at all.
The same is true of Windows or Mac systems. Anything any program does
relies ultimately on its communication with the OS via system level
functions. All functionality builds on that.

Cut and paste aren't broken, as indicated by various people on this
thread. Your "replace" function may be. I never heard of trying to do
that before. Just because it works in Windows and Mac doesn't mean it
should work on Linux. Personally, I consider "cut and paste" a separate
operation from "replace".

Multiple monitors also work, as indicated by others on this thread.
Likewise multiple NICs. Etc. It sounds like you're claiming that since
you can't get this stuff to work, and you're an "average" user, then....
I don't know that I'd agree that you're an average user. And even if
true, just because you can't get it to work, doesn't mean it doesn't
work.

Ranting about how bad Linux sucks on a Linux list is kinda dumb, don't
you think? As far as I know, few or no one on this list is directly
working on kernel or other software issues relating to your beefs, so I
don't know what you expect them to do about it. Even if they agree with
you that this stuff is broken.

My gosh, Frank, if Linux sucks this bad for you, use Windows.

Paul
