The Chinese news is hilarious, until I remember that very many people 
live there and all they can hear about is how their Great Leader did 
this and that for them today because he loves them so much.  They will 
never read this.  They might get arrested if they did.  (Is anyone 
knocking at (or down) your door?)
To bring this back on topic, people have been hacking TIVO boxen.  TIVO 
seems to run Linux.  Further, folks have been putting TV tuner cards in 
Linux boxen to time-shift programs.  It even lets you fastforward 
through the commercials, and don't be thinking there aren't some 
capitalist folks upset about that.
Toss in a project discussed on this list lately to automate downloading 
of anime from news groups and I'm in trouble from both the left and the 
right.
