Here's a suggestion you didn't ask for: don't send mail as root. In
fact, don't operate as root unless you have a compelling reason to do
so. Operating as root while online is a large security hole. Linux and
Unix have the advantage that you can do most of the things you'd want to
as a regular user. Under a regular user, the only damage you can do is
to your home directory. As root, you have unlimited ability to destroy
your system.
