GPG good. Crypto good. Ubiquitous crypto best.
We've had some informal talk, and IIRC even some formal presentation on
GPG and crypto, at least at a couple of the Tampa meetings I've been
at. The overall result of which is that I now have two whole SLUG
member's signatures on my key, and vice-versa.
Not that I think there's any lack of desire, but that GPG and crypto in
general is still kind of one of those things that sounds/feels like
deep arcanum to someone not familiar with it, and unless you are in the
practice of using it a lot, you wind up forgetting about it. (I would
put pretty good money that Tom doesn't remember his passphrase to get
to his key anymore. :)
I'm all for it if someone wants to do a presentation on GPG/crypto at
one of the SLUG meetings and associated key-signing "party", I'd
probably even make a real effort to show up and "trade signatures". I
should be willing to do the presentation for suggesting it, but lately
"free time" has been a mythical creature for me...
