You-all got me thinking with this xine thread, I just had to try it.
Yup. Xine as shipped with MEPIS *won't* play a DVD. Pointed and clicked
on everything I can think of. Hear the error sound and see the error
message, though, thanks to all the hard work you guys did at the last
three meetings.

"The source can't be read. Maybe you don't have enough rights for this,
or source doesn't contain data (e.g.: not disk in drive. (Error reading
NAV packet.) Well, dammit, what if I log in as root? That didn't work
either. What rights would it need that root didn't have? Better
interface, though, but still *doesn't* work.

Oh, yeah. Same hardware and same media works fine under winders . . .
