Hi Robert!

Missed you the last couple meetings. The machine in question does not have
Windows, can't say I miss Windows.

The database was updated at the Verizon store by the counter guy who used his
own Windows machine to do it. This was maybe two weeks ago.

I have no idea what the signal is on the evdo line. I am using it at various
locations, and have the same trouble at all of them. At the moment I am at
home using the faster DSL. How can I read the signal? (system is the recent
gentoo, kde 3.5.3, Machine is gateway solo mobile P II, 400 mhz 256 cache,
281 meg, 8 gig circa 1997)

I could see the tower out the (glass) window at the last location I tried it
at, maybe 500 feet away. It practically microwaved my lunch for me. During
the minute or so it is on it is as fast as "slow" DSL. Don't know where the
towers were at the other locations.

Regards,

Pete
