[SLUG] Linux Virtual Organ

Hi Sluggers!

I want to build a Linux Virtual Organ before I die. So far, all I have are two
sort-of-cheap Yamaha MIDI keyboards, different from each other, a generic ATX
case with power supply and a big, analog component stereo rig to play it
through.

>From what I am reading, this system needs a LOT of memory (8 gig is not too
much, it loads a "sound font" for every stop that the player draws) a MIDI
connection for each keyboard plus one more MIDI for the pedalboard and
perhaps 3 touch screen monitors that would double as stop and coupler
(software) controls.

Are there any motherboards that can take 8 gig, can accept perhaps 4 MIDI
inputs, interface with three touch screens and have a slot or two left over
for a killer sound card or two? Oh, yeah, it needs network to get its Linux
software, too.

I won't ever have the money to buy a nice organ, so I intend to cobble up a
fake one - tee hee! Buying something like this in a music store would cost
six figures, fill your house and be worth nothing the day after it was
delivered.
