Umm... wrong. You may want to read that SuSE/YaST license again at
http://www.suse.de/us/private/support/licenses/yast.html
Pay special attention to this sentence:
"Making YaST or works derived thereof available free of charge together
with SUSE Linux on FTP Servers and mailboxes is permitted if the
licences on the software are observed."
And this paragraph:
"It is forbidden to reproduce or distribute data carriers which have
been reproduced without authorisation for payment without the prior
written consent of SUSE LINUX AG or SUSE LINUX. Distribution of the YaST
programme, its sources, whether amended or unamended in full or in part
thereof, and the works derived thereof for a charge require the prior
written consent of SUSE LINUX AG."
You can give away SuSE and YaST and share it freely as long as you
observe the terms of the license that covers most included packages --
something called the "GPL" -- but if you modify it you must tell people
to whom you give the modified version that you have modified it and SuSE
isn't responsible for support.
If you *sell* SuSE/YaST they want you to have permission, and they want
some of the money you get.
There is no problem putting SuSE on SLUG servers or pointing to other
ftp downloads through this or other email lists.
