That option will keep one client synchronized with the server. However, it
doesn't seem to work if there are two or more clients. For example, if I
delete an e-mail from the inbox of client1, the e-mail will be removed
automatically from the server but not client2. The same e-mail will have to
be deleted manually from client2. My guess is that the POP3 protocol just
isn't designed to be used this way and unfortunately IMAP doesn't seem to be
in high enough demand for ISP's to offer it. I hadn't considered setting up
a web interface for my parents but that sounds interesting to explore as
well.
