My favorite.
Linksys WRT54-G (try to get a pre version 4.0 with 16mb flash)
Then flash it with :

There are alot of devices that support DD-wrt.

Since DD-wrt is Linux based you are not OT :)

I won't touch an off the shelf router unless it can run DD-WRT or OpenWRT.
